It's a great entry into the saga and is by no means a 'filler' book as it's an important book in it's own right where you discover even more truths about both Talon and the Order and how they may be more closely linked than anyone could have thought but what can two dragons, a human computer nerd and a former Order soldier do about any of it? The world building in this series is growing more and more with every book and it's proving to be a fascinating world in which these characters exist and it's a world I'm dying to learn even more about. there's adventure, there's destruction, romance, anxiety, stress, anger, friendship and everything in between. Soldier is an action packed sequel to both Talon and Rogue, it's totally stuffed full of everything you could want in any book.

it must mean that Kagawa has a way with words in that my norm isn't a factor here. The love triangle with him, Ember and Riley is still there and is still as totally in the air as it ever has been, there is absolutely no way to tell which way Ember is going to fall and while in other books this may be a little annoying by now in this case it doesn't bother me in the slightest which is pretty unusual as the girls that can't make up their minds are the girls that usually annoy me the most so go figure. The main thing that is brilliant about this book is the return of Garrett as after the end of Rogue there was no way to say if he'd be a major player in this book or not, thankfully the answer is yes, he's back and he's back in the thick of the action and back in Ember's heart to boot. It's an amazing entry into the Talon saga and has made me totally desperate for the next book!

Well, there is no doubt in my mind that Julie Kagawa knows exactly how to pull on your heartstrings and create the most explicitly mind-blowing cliffhangers and Soldier is no exception to the rule.
